Top 10 Things To Do In Tucson

Today we are talking about the top 10 things to do in Tucson Arizona. So whether you live here and call the “Old Pueblo” home, or you are just visiting. Stick around and I will share with you the top 10 things this Biggest Small town has to offer.

 

#10 Annual Gem and Mineral Show

·         Starts end of January to the middle of February.
·         Largest in the World
·         Over 4,000 exhibitors who come all over the world (45 states, 65 countries)
·         There are over 65,000 visitors

 

#9 Mt. Lemmon

·         This Mt. sits about 9,000 feet of elevation
·         Great escape in the Summer (25 degrees cooler)
·         Winter there is snow and you can go sledding and skiing.
·         Plenty of Cabins
·         Amazing views
·         Rose Canyon Lake not so high up the Mt. plenty of Fishing and Hiking.
·         Windy Point is about half way up and amazing views.

 

#8 Hiking Trails

·         Sabino Canyon Trail dozens of trails and amazing views.
·         Have the tram to take you around.
·         Tanque Verde Falls with an 80 foot waterfall.
·         Signal Hill petroglyphs very easy hiking trail. Great for kids and adults.
·         Cienega Creek Preserve tons of water flowing. Very easy hike.
·         Tumomoc Hill Most popular hiking trail in Tucson. 

 

 

#7 Cycling & Mt. Biking

·         Tour De Tucson happening since 1983
·         Usually happens in November
·         7,000 – 9,000 riders and several different routes to take.
·         Longest is 102 miles/ shortest is about a mile.
·         Covers most parts of the city. Streets are closed down.
·         Attracts cyclists from all around the world.
·         Reason is to raise funds for at least 40 local charities.

 

 

 

#6 University Of Arizona

·         Tour De Tucson happening since 1983
·         Usually happens in November
·         7,000 – 9,000 riders and several different routes to take.
·         Longest is 102 miles/ shortest is about a mile.
·         Covers most parts of the city. Streets are closed down.

·         Famous for Mexican Food.
·         Breakfast Trifecta is Presta, La Estrella, Sais

·         Is one of the largest non government funded space museums in the United States.
·         Daily 9-3 about $15 per person
·         Interactive History lesson.
·         Nearly everyone are volunteers (Ex military)
·         Different aircrafts and Hangers.

·         Family friendly entertaining venue.
·         Perform musical comedies
·         Little Anthony’s Diner (Owned by the Gaslight)

·         Wide variety of options

·         Ranks 2nd to the only the Grand Canyon as the most visited place in the state.
·         Zoo and Aquarium and Botanical Garden.
·         Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Lions.
·         About 2 hours to walk through it is almost all outside.
